Procedure to apply for Afghanistan Embassy Visa from London

  • All visa applications can be submitted in person or by mail, with the exception of child visas (child e-Travel Permits).
  • Applications that are not complete and/or lack the requisite supporting materials won’t be processed.
  • Child Visa (Child e-Travel Permit) applications must be made by email.

Types of visa

1. Tourist visas

  • All foreign nationals planning to travel to Afghanistan to visit friends and family are issued tourist visas.
  • The duration of a single entrance on a tourist visa is three months. 30 days are allowed to be spent in Afghanistan within the period of validity. Every visa for Afghanistan must be obtained on a current passport. For owners of travel documents, we do not issue visas.

2. Business visa

  • Employers and workers of Afghan companies are granted business visas. Afghanistan only issues visas to travelers with current passports. For owners of travel documents, we do not issue visas.

3. Entry visa

  • Employers and workers of companies with Afghan business registrations are granted entry visas. Entry visas are not extendable in Afghanistan but can be extended through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Only passports in good standing may be used to get visas for Afghanistan. For owners of travel documents, we do not issue visas.

4. Media visa

  • For all media-related visits to Afghanistan, media visas are issued. Visas for the media are not extended or converted. Only passports in good standing may be used to get visas for Afghanistan. For owners of travel documents, we do not issue visas.

5. Diplomatic and Official visas

  • Holders of service, diplomatic, and UN passports are eligible for diplomatic and official visas if they intend to travel to Afghanistan for business.
  • Official and diplomatic visas are single-entry, three-month documents that allow for a 30-day stay. In Afghanistan, these visas are extendable.

6. Spouse visa

  • The spouse of an Afghan national who wants to visit Afghanistan is given a spouse visa. The duration of a spouse visa is three months, with a single entry and a 30-day stay allowed during that time.
  • Only passports in good standing may be used to get visas for Afghanistan. For owners of travel documents, we do not issue visas.

7. Child e-Travel Permits

  • Children of Afghan origin who were born outside of Afghanistan and do not possess an Afghan passport or a tazkera must get Child e-Travel Permits.
  • A child does not need an entry permission if their non-Afghan passport states that they were born in Afghanistan.
