About Shaun Bailey
Shaun Bailey is a British politician and member of the London Assembly. He was born on May 12, 1971, in North Kensington, London. He is a member of the Conservative Party and has been a member of the London Assembly since 2016.
Prior to his political career, Bailey worked as a youth worker, helping young people in disadvantaged areas of London. He later founded his own charity, the MyGeneration Community Trust, which aims to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve their full potential.
Bailey has been an active member of the Conservative Party since the early 2000s, and he has held a number of roles within the party, including advisor to Prime Minister David Cameron on youth and crime policy. In 2010, he was selected as the Conservative Party’s candidate for the Hammersmith constituency in the UK General Election but was not successful.
In 2016, Bailey was elected to the London Assembly, representing the West Central constituency. As a member of the Assembly, he has focused on issues such as housing, crime, and youth employment. He has also been a vocal critic of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, particularly in relation to his handling of crime in the city.
In 2021, Bailey stood as the Conservative Party’s candidate in the London mayoral election, but was not successful, losing to incumbent Sadiq Khan. However, he continues to serve as a member of the London Assembly and is expected to remain an active voice in London politics.
